Tata Trusts Chairman Noel N. Tata proposed that Tata Sons buy shares from the Shapoorji Pallonji Group to provide liquidity to the group, according to a press release on Thursday.
The proposal would involve purchasing enough shares held by SP Group entities to generate at least 250 billion rupees, with the buyback planned in two tranches over 18 months.
Tata Sons would seek funding through internal cash flows, asset sales, new investors, and potential listings, while initiating a selective capital reduction process through the NCLT.
