Tata Power (NSE:TATAPOWER, BOM:500400) has received a letter of award from Solar Energy Corp. of India to provide energy storage services from a 324 MW/2,592 MWh pumped storage project.
The project will provide storage services for 40 years from the scheduled commencement of supply date, according to an Indian bourse filing on Saturday.
Tata Power is required to commence supply within 36 months of the effective date of the pumped storage purchase agreement.
The contract provides for an annual fixed charge of about 3.51 billion rupees for the 324 MW capacity. SECI will execute the purchase agreement with Tata Power after signing the corresponding sale agreement with buying entities.
Shares of Tata Power rose over 1% in early trade on Monday.
