A tanker caught fire after being struck by an unknown projectile about 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, the UK Maritime Trade Operations said on Monday.
The strike resulted in fire on the main deck of the vessel. However, all the crew have been reported safe and there has been no environmental impact, the agency said.
"The company security officer reported a tanker has been struck by unknown projectile causing a fire to the vessel on the main deck. All crew are safe and accounted for and no environmental impact has been reported," the UKMTO said in its alert.
