Tamura (TYO:6768) is acquiring 80% of Italy's EMG Power Electric for 9.5 billion yen through its European subsidiary, adding medium-voltage dry-type transformer expertise to its clean-energy portfolio.
The deal aims to strengthen Tamura's position in AI data centers, renewable energy, and electrification markets, particularly in North America and other high-growth regions, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Tuesday.
EMG will serve as the group's Global Center of Excellence for medium-voltage technologies, integrating its engineering and manufacturing capabilities across Tamura's worldwide operations from Japan to the Americas and Asia.
