Taiwan's Keelung District Indicts Nine People Over Illegal Export of AI Servers

By

Taiwan's Keelung District Prosecutors Office indicted nine people after an investigation into the unauthorized sale and export of high-end B300 AI servers, according to a Monday statement.

Prosecutors alleged the group used inaccurate end-user documents and other false information to secure approval for an order of 130 B300 servers.

The investigation found that 74 servers were sent to Chinese buyers, with shipments routed through China, Indonesia and Japan, while customs officials prevented the remaining 56 from leaving Taiwan. Two defendants allegedly made $21.2 million from the resale of the 74 servers after deducting payments to the distributor.

Separately, prosecutors accused three people of using fabricated invoices to transfer NT$39.2 million from a listed distributor, of which NT$21.99 million was allegedly taken. Authorities carried out three searches, detained seven suspects and made recoveries.

Prosecutors requested prison sentences ranging from 18 months to six years for the defendants, depending on their alleged roles in the offenses, the office said.
