Swedish union IF Metall said Thursday it will halt its nearly three-year strike against Tesla (TSLA) on Aug. 19.
Tesla "has bought out all of the union's striking members at the company. This means that the conflict no longer has any effect," according to a Google translation of the union's statement.
Tesla is "so strongly opposed to collective agreements that they would rather buy out employees who are members of the union than give them safe conditions," the union said, according to the Google translation.
Reuters reported Thursday that Tesla does not have manufacturing plants in Sweden, but its electric vehicles are serviced by IF Metall union workers.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment by.
