Suzuki Motor (TYO:7269) posted an 80% year-over-year rise in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 183.6 billion yen from 102.0 billion yen.
Earnings per share stood at 95.16 yen, compared with 52.88 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Revenue grew 22% to 1.706 trillion yen from 1.398 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30.
The automaker raised its full-year attributable profit forecast to 420.0 billion yen from 380.0 billion yen, EPS to 217.69 yen from 196.97 yen and revenue to 6.900 trillion yen from 6.800 trillion yen.
The revision was due to a weaker yen and solid global sales.
Suzuki plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 25 and 26 yen per share, respectively, for the current year, higher than a year earlier.
Shares of the company slid more than 1% in recent trade.
