Suzuken Subsidiary's Kumamoto Plant Set to Resume Operations by Late October

Operations at the Kumamoto Plant of Suzuken's (TYO:9987) subsidiary, Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho, are expected to resume around late October following damage sustained to water-supply utility facilities in the July 28 earthquake.

Recovery efforts are currently underway, and sufficient inventory has been secured to avoid immediate supply concerns during the suspension, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.

The earthquake caused primarily water-related facility damage, triggering good manufacturing practice (GMP)-compliant repairs before operations can restart.

While the outage and recovery costs are expected to reduce sales and profits at the subsidiary level, Suzuken does not anticipate any material impact on its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027.
