Sunway Healthcare (KLSE:SUNMED) unit Sunway Medical Center, has agreed to acquire four freehold land parcels in Johor, Malaysia, for 45.4 million ringgit, according to a Wednesday Malaysian bourse filing.
The 9.918-acre site is earmarked for the development of a 410-bed hospital with an estimated total development cost of about 781.6 million ringgit.
The acquisition replaces an earlier 2024 agreement for a leasehold parcel, which was terminated upon execution of the new sale and purchase agreement.
The acquisition, which will be funded through internal funds and/or bank borrowings, is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2027, subject to the fulfilment of conditions precedent.
