Sunshine Oilsands Faces HK$1.6 Million Claim Over Former Office; Shares Slip 6%

Sunshine Oilsands (HKG:2012) has received a writ of summons from Hong Kong's District Court over alleged unpaid rent and other charges related to its former office, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The plaintiffs, Istril and Charter Year, are seeking about HK$1.58 million, plus interest and costs, and allege the company failed to reinstate the premises after the tenancy expired.

Sunshine Oilsands said it is seeking legal advice and assessing the claim's legal basis and potential impact on its financial position and operations.

Shares of the firm were down nearly 6% in Thursday's early afternoon trade.
