Energy storage system provider Sungrow said Wednesday that a 200-megawatt/400-megawatt-hour battery energy storage project has connected to the grid and begun operations after completing the grid-connection process in 17 days.
The project uses Sungrow's PowerTitan 3.0 energy storage system and battery cells from its 600+ Ah series, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. It did not disclose the project's name or location.
Sungrow, which is also a Photovoltaic inverter provider, said its digital delivery platform enabled equipment configuration and system checks to be completed before grid-connection commissioning.
The process cut final commissioning time from more than 10 days to about one hour, allowing the project to connect to the grid on its first attempt, the company said.
The system also features thermal management technology designed to reduce energy consumption under high-temperature conditions.
Sungrow said the project has operated at ambient temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius, with the thermal management system reducing operating energy consumption by 10%.
