Sumitomo (TYO:8053) reported an 11.2% increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent for the fiscal first quarter to 190.1 billion yen from 170.9 billion yen a year earlier.
Earnings per share climbed to 39.92 yen from 35.27 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 increased 9% year on year to 1.949 trillion yen from 1.788 trillion yen.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Sumitomo forecasts attributable profit of 630 billion yen, with earnings per share expected to be 132.54 yen.
The company expects to pay interim and year-end dividends of 20.00 yen per share each for the current fiscal year.
