Sumitomo (TYO:8053) completed its 80 billion yen share buyback, repurchasing 47.7 million common shares, according to a Tokyo Bourse filing on Friday.
The repurchases were conducted between May 7 and Sept. 3 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under the 80 billion yen share buyback launched on May 7.
The program runs through March 31, 2027, and includes the repurchases of 88 million shares, equivalent to 1.8% of its outstanding shares, excluding treasury stock.
The shares repurchased will be cancelled on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on April 9, 2027.
