Sumco Swings to Attributable Loss in H1; Interim Dividend Declared

Sumco (TYO:3436) recorded an attributable loss of 12.9 billion yen in the first half of 2026, compared with an attributable profit of 3.08 billion yen a year prior.

Basic loss per share was 36.87 yen, compared with a basic EPS of 8.81 yen previously, according to a Thursday Tokyo bourse filing.

The Japanese silicon wafer maker's net sales increased 4.7% year over year to 215 billion yen from 205.4 billion yen.

The company declared an interim dividend of 10 yen per share for the period, in line with its forecast.

The company forecasts an attributable loss of 12.8 billion yen, basic loss per share of 36.60 yen, and net sales of 333 billion yen for the nine months ending Sept. 30.

The company also expects to pay a 10 yen per share dividend for the year ending Dec. 31, according to a separate filing.

CPE Technology Unit to Buy Johor Land with Factory for MYR10 Million

CPE Technology's (KLSE:CPETECH) subsidiary, Champion Precision Technology, agreed to acquire a piece of freehold land with a factory in Johor, Malaysia, from Flomatic Industries, for 10 million ringgit, according to a Wednesday filing with Bursa Malaysia.The acquisition will be funded via proceeds from the company's initial public offering.The expansion is part of CPE's strategy to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and expand production capacity.The transaction is expected to conclude by the second quarter of 2027, the filing said.
