Stella Power ordered a large fleet of PGM130 generation packages powered by Titan 130 gas turbines from Caterpillar's Solar Turbines unit, the company said Tuesday.
Stella will use the fleet to supply on-site power for data centers, industrial facilities, oil and gas operations, and critical infrastructure, the company said.
Stella said US grid interconnection timelines now exceed four to five years, while artificial intelligence drives electricity demand. Industry forecasts show US data center power use could more than double by the end of the decade.
Stella said onsite natural gas generation can bypass grid delays and quickly deliver reliable power to mission-critical customers across North America.
Each PGM130 unit generates more than 16 megawatts under International Organization for Standardization conditions, reaches full output in about 90 seconds and emits as little as 2 parts per million nitrogen oxides.
Stella said the Titan 130 platform can scale beyond gigawatt capacity without water for generation or cooling, reducing costs and expanding deployment options.
Pairing the turbines with battery energy storage systems enables millisecond-level load transitions, improves fuel efficiency and supports 99.9% uptime, Stella said.
