Star Entertainment Group Says Queensland Defers Gold Coast Casino License Suspension

Star Entertainment Group (ASX:SGR) said the Queensland Government has deferred the suspension of Star Gold Coast's casino license to March 31, 2027, and extended special manager Nicholas Weeks' appointment to the same date, according to an Australian bourse filing on Thursday.

The casino's license was due to be suspended for 90 days from Sept. 30.

The decision follows Weeks' latest independent review, which found substantial progress in the company's remediation and reform efforts, while noting that several priority issues remain unresolved, per the filing.

The extension will enable the company to continue its remediation plan under independent oversight, with the Queensland Government warning of further action if the company fails to meet its obligations, the filing added.
