Star Asia Investment (TYO:3468) average occupancy rate at 15 of its Japan hotels improved by 3.1% to 88% in July, according to a Tuesday Tokyo bourse filing.
Average daily rate slipped 1.5% to 13,727 yen, while revenue per available room gained 2.1% to 12,086 yen.
The cumulative performance for the fiscal period to July showed a higher average occupancy rate of 89.9%.
The company, citing data from the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), said Japan welcomed a record 0.1% more international visitors in July, with 17 markets hitting all-time monthly highs and Taiwan surpassing 700,000 visitors for the first time.
