Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) posted attributable profit of $1.76 billion for the second quarter, up 2% from $1.73 billion a year earlier, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Earnings per share at the lender came in at $0.753 from $0.705 a year earlier.
Adjusted net interest income increased 6% on a constant currency basis to $2.87 billion from $2.70 billion.
It announced a $1 billion share buyback, which is expected to reduce the CET1 ratio by 38 basis points, and raised its interim dividend by 66% to $0.204 per share.
