StanChart Buys Back Shares

Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 742,984 shares on Monday at an average price of around 20 pounds sterling apiece, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have about 2.2 billion shares in issue.
