Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 782,380 shares on Tuesday at an average price of 18.27 pounds sterling apiece, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have about 2.21 billion shares in issue.

Zhejiang Runtu Co (SHE:002440) plans to invest 30 million yuan for a 10% stake in Shaoxing Shangyu Zhishun Venture Capital Fund.The 300-million-yuan fund targets unlisted companies, according to a Wednesday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.The fund has a 20-year term.
Teco Electric and Machinery (TPE:1504) is set to acquire Malaysian engineering firm Dynaciate Engineering for about 200 million ringgit.The deal is expected to close in August, according to a Tuesday press release.Following completion, TECO will obtain a controlling stake in Dynaciate and expects to begin recognizing related revenue and profit contributions in the second half of 2026.The Taiwan-based company said the acquisition supports its strategy to expand as an AI data centre solutions provider, particularly in modular data center engineering and infrastructure services across Southeast Asia.
