St Barbara (ASX:SBM) accelerated the exploration spend for its Nova Scotia operations in Canada, with a 64% increase to AU$4.1 million in fiscal 2027 from AU$2.5 million in fiscal 2026, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The company said the exploration team has doubled in size with a further expansion and increased program anticipated for fiscal 2028. Key work programs include reverse circulation and interface reverse circulation drilling of up to 105 holes for 4,400 meters testing between five and seven targets.
Deposit and near-mine geophysical surveys and structural studies are also planned to advance drill targeting in the brownfield environment, the filing added.
