Southern (SO) subsidiary Georgia Power said Thursday it received approval from the Georgia Public Service Commission for seven solar power purchase agreements totaling 1,137 megawatts.
The Georgia Public Service Commission approved seven power purchase agreements covering Appling, Decatur, Emanuel, Irwin, Jefferson, Sumter and Warren counties.
The developments, procured through the company's CARES 2023 and 2025 programs, are expected to begin commercial operation as early as 2029, Georgia Power said.
