Sony Financial Group (TYO:8729) reported profit attributable to owners of the parent of 9.2 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 compared with a loss of 24.5 billion yen.
The financial services company's earnings per share came in at 1.37 yen versus a loss of 3.43 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Monday.
Operating revenues jumped 10.5% to 268 billion yen from 242.6 billion yen in the year-ago period.
In a separate filing, the company revised its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. It now expects attributable profit of 23 billion yen versus a loss of 16 billion yen and operating revenues of 1.070 trillion yen from 1.050 trillion yen on lower-than-anticipated losses on sales of securities.
