Sompo Holdings' (TYO:8630) net income attributable to owners of the parent jumped 53% to 181.2 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 118.6 billion yen a year earlier.
The insurer's earnings per share declined to 203.14 yen from 127.41 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Insurance revenue increased 28% to 1.617 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 1.264 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Sompo expects attributable net income of 490 billion yen and basic EPS of 549.17 yen.
The company expects to pay interim and year-end dividends of 100.00 yen per share each for the year.
