Sojitz (TYO:2768) posted a 43.4% year-over-year increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent to 30.22 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 21.08 billion yen.
The Japan-based general trading company's basic earnings per share increased to 144.72 yen from 100.30 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Friday.
Revenues jumped 39.3% to 834.25 billion yen from 598.90 billion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 130 billion yen and EPS of 622.55 yen.
The company plans to pay a second-quarter cash dividend of 90 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
