SoftBank and OpenAI Launch AI-Powered Cybersecurity Service to 3,000 Japanese Firms

By

SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) and OpenAI's joint venture SB OAI Japan has launched an AI-driven cybersecurity solution for up to 3,000 Japan-based companies, according to a statement on Tuesday.

The service combined OpenAI's advanced technologies with SoftBank's operational expertise to provide end-to-end vulnerability management from assessment to patch deployment.

The service addresses the growing threat of AI-accelerated cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure, which conventional approaches struggle to counter due to a shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

SoftBank will establish an Enterprise AI Cyber Defense Office on July 16 with 1,000 personnel. SB OAI is a 50:50 joint venture established in Tokyo by OpenAI and C Holdings.
