SK Hynix (SKHY) on Thursday said it broke ground on high bandwidth memory production hub in Indiana, with an expected investment of over $4 billion.
The facility will open its cleanroom in October 2028 and begin mass production in the second half of 2029, the company said.
The Indiana fab will employ about 1,000 workers during anticipated commercial operations and marks the company's first HBM production base established in the US, according to a statement.
