SK Group, Nvidia Sign $500 Billion Long-Term Partnership to Secure, Co-Develop Next-Generation HBM

SK Group, the parent of SK Hynix (KRX:000660), signed a memorandum of understanding with U.S.-based chipmaker Nvidia to secure and co-develop next-generation AI memory, Nvidia said in a press release on Friday.

The two companies will jointly develop and optimize next-generation AI memory, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), for AI infrastructure spanning large language models, agentic AI and physical AI, according to the release.

The long-term partnership, amounting to $500 billion, was announced during South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's visit to San Francisco, where South Korean firms Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) and Naver (KRX:035420) also announced partnerships with US firms.

Shares of SK Hynix fell more than 1% in recent trade. Shares of Samsung Electronics declined nearly 1%, while those of Naver added over 9%.

Japan Hotel REIT's Revenue Nearly Flat in June

Japan Hotel REIT Investment (TYO:8985) said its 29 hotels generated total revenue of 6.05 billion yen in June, down 0.6% from a year earlier.Hotel occupancy reached 81.2% in June, up 0.1% year over year, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.The average daily rate gained 1.6% to 18,509 yen, while revenue per available room rose 1.7% to 15,023 yen.
