South Korea's SK Group on Tuesday said it was partnering with KKR to launch a renewable energy platform in the country valued at 2 trillion won.
The platform, which SK Group said was the largest of its kind in South Korea, will bring together SK Group's renewable energy assets to meet the surging demand for clean power from AI data centers, semiconductor production lines, and other large industrial needs.
The business will bring together 1.7 gigawatts of capacity currently in operation and a development pipeline that will bring the total capacity to 10 gigawatts.
KKR will have management control of the platform in its initial phase, with SK participating as an equity investor.
