Wall Street futures pointed higher pre-bell Monday on softer oil prices and statements from Tehran and Washington indicating a lull in Persian Gulf hostilities.
In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 1%, the Nasdaq inclined 1.5% and the Dow Jones was up 1.1%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded down 6.7% at $83.33 a barrel in morning hours.
The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH) traded up 2.3% pre-bell.
Traders this week also await the Federal Reserve's policy session and rate statement, slated for Wednesday, followed by the first Q2 gross domestic product (GDP) estimate, and the June personal consumption expenditures-core (PCE-core) price index, both due on Thursday.
On the earnings scene, blue chips reporting this week include Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), Apple (AAPL), Amazon.com (AMZN), Lam Research (LRCX), Arm (ARM), Seagate Technology (STX), Qualcomm (QCOM), Procter & Gamble (PG), Visa (V), Mastercard (MA), Coca-Cola (KO), Boeing (BA), ExxonMobil (XOM), and Chevron (CVX).
Asian exchanges traded mostly higher overnight, and European bourses tracked north midday on the continent.
In Asian market news, shares in CXMT rose nearly 470% after the memory chip maker's IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, thus making CXMT mainland China's most valuable listed enterprise, CNBC reported.
On the US economic calendar is the durable goods orders bulletin at 8:30 am ET.
The Dallas Fed Manufacturing Survey logs at 10:30 am.
In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $65,294, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.64%. Spot gold commanded $4,095 an ounce.
