Singapore shares extended their losing streak on Thursday amid escalating geopolitical turmoil after US President Donald Trump threatened severe economic action against Iran.
The Straits Times Index opened lower by 0.42%, shedding 24 points, at 5,670.240.
In a post on social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the U.S. will launch the "most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country" against Iran. He said Tehran had failed to seize what he described as an opportunity to negotiate an agreement.
