Singapore shares edged lower at market open Wednesday, with investors tracking technology stocks closely ahead of global chip giant Nvidia's highly anticipated earnings report later in the day.
The Straits Times Index slipped 0.15%, or 8.34 points, to 5,727.34.
Investors are looking to Nvidia's results for fresh cues on the trajectory of the technology sector, as recent strong corporate earnings across global markets have done little to stem profit-taking in artificial intelligence-related equities.
