Singapore shares opened in negative territory on Friday, weighed down by a global bond sell-off driven by surging oil prices and growing inflation concerns.
The Straits Times Index edged down 0.09%, or 4.92 points, to open at 5,678.450.
The international bond sell-off has pushed long-term US Treasury yields to new highs as investors expect potential further interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve.
