Singapore Exchange's (SGX:S68) securities market turnover jumped 37% year over year in July to SG$46.2 billion, with securities' daily average value surging 37% to cross SG$2 billion for a sixth consecutive month, according to a Wednesday bourse filing.
Derivatives traded volume climbed by 16% year over year to 33.9 million contracts, while derivatives daily average volume rose 16% to around 1.5 million contracts.
During the period, The Straits Times Index advanced 8.9% to 5,628.5, the biggest month-on-month increase in more than five years.
