Sichuan Hongda Branch Resumes Zinc Smelting Production

Sichuan Hongda (SHA:600331) said its Shifang Nonferrous Metals branch resumed zinc smelting production on June 21, after a planned maintenance and equipment upgrade shutdown that began in January.

The resumption is expected to boost operating rates, lower unit production costs, restore production capacity and reduce safety and environmental risks, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

The resumption will also enable stable sulfuric acid supply to the phosphorus chemical branch.

Shares of the chemical producer closed 6% lower Tuesday.
