Sichuan Biokin Pharma's Q1 Loss Balloons Despite Revenue Growth; Shares Up 3%

-- Sichuan Biokin Pharmaceutical's (SHA:688506) attributable net loss ballooned to 774.6 million yuan in the first quarter from 531.4 million yuan a year earlier.

Loss per share likewise widened to 1.88 yuan from 1.33 yuan, the pharmaceutical company said in a Shanghai bourse filing on Tuesday.

Revenue, however, jumped 40% to 94.6 million yuan from 67.4 million yuan, which Biokin attributed to increased market demand for its products.

Shares of the company fell nearly 3% in recent trade.
