Shiseido's (TYO:4911) profit attributable to owners of its parent company jumped 211.4% to 29.7 billion yen for the first half ended June 30 from 9.54 billion yen a year earlier.
The personal care and cosmetic company's earnings per share (EPS) climbed to 74.30 yen from 23.86 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Net sales for the six months ended June 30 grew 6.2% to nearly 499 billion yen from 469.8 billion yen in the year-ago corresponding period.
The company declared an interim dividend of 30.00 yen per share.
For the full year ending Dec. 31, the company expects attributable profit of 42.00 billion yen, basic EPS of 105.12 yen, and net sales of 990.0 billion yen.
Shiseido expects to pay a year-end dividend of 30.00 yen per share for the current year.
