Shinsegae August Sales Rise 11%

Shinsegae (KRX:004170) recorded August sales of 159.9 billion won, up 11% from 144.6 billion won in the same month last year, though slightly down 3.1% from July.

The department store operator's cumulative sales for the first eight months of the year reached 1.443 trillion won, a 15% increase from 1.250 trillion won in the prior-year period, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.

Total sales for August stood at 424.9 billion won, up 7% year-on-year, while cumulative total sales reached 3.857 trillion won, up 14%.

The figures are based on non-consolidated financial statements and may be subject to change following external audit.
