Shine Justice (ASX:SHJ) written down AU$13 million in work in progress and disbursements tied to a long-running class action, taking the total impairment to AU$13.7 million following an unexpected interlocutory judgment, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The company is considering an appeal and other remedies, emphasizing that the write-down does not alter management's assessment of the claim's merits, the filing said.
The non-cash charge is expected to weigh on fiscal 2026 profit and net assets, with unaudited earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization forecast at AU$31.7 million, or AU$44.7 million excluding the charge, the filing added.
