Shimamura (TYO:8227) plans to begin acquiring Summit Corporation's clothing business Colmopia, which comprises the assets and rights relating to 21 stores, from January 2027, according to a Monday filing with the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in March 2027.
Shimamura will operate Colmopia's stores as its own. The Japanese retailer will not take over any receivables, liabilities, or contractual or administrative positions of Colmopia with business partners. The amounts of the assets to be acquired remain undisclosed.
Shares of Shimamura added nearly 1% in recent trade.
