Shimadzu Profit Rises 68% in Fiscal Q1

Shimadzu (TYO:7701) posted a 68% year-over-year increase in profit attributable to owners of the parent to 13.3 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 7.9 billion yen.

The industrial and testing equipment maker's basic earnings per share increased to 46.14 yen from 27.42 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Monday.

Net sales climbed 10% to 130.6 billion yen from 118.4 billion yen in the year-ago period.

For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company forecasts an attributable profit of 59 billion yen, basic EPS of 204.19 yen, and ordinary profit of 620 billion yen.

The company plans to pay a second quarter-end dividend of 27 yen per share for the current fiscal year.

Seiko Epson (TYO:6724) said its board agreed to launch an up to 30 billion yen buyback, repurchasing as many as 17 million common shares as part of its plan to drive growth investments and shareholder returns.The printer manufacturer said the share buyback will run from Aug. 7, 2026, through March 31, 2027, and all repurchased shares will be canceled, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.The buyback, to be conducted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange using the discretionary method, represents 5.31% of its outstanding shares excluding treasury stock.

CPE Technology Unit to Buy Johor Land with Factory for MYR10 Million

CPE Technology's (KLSE:CPETECH) subsidiary, Champion Precision Technology, agreed to acquire a piece of freehold land with a factory in Johor, Malaysia, from Flomatic Industries, for 10 million ringgit, according to a Wednesday filing with Bursa Malaysia.The acquisition will be funded via proceeds from the company's initial public offering.The expansion is part of CPE's strategy to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and expand production capacity.The transaction is expected to conclude by the second quarter of 2027, the filing said.
