Shenzhen Energy Group (SHE:000027) plans to invest $196.6 million in Kazakhstan's Astana Energy Eco-Park Project, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Wednesday.
The investment will be made through the company's overseas subsidiaries by injecting capital in them.
The project includes the installation of two moving-grate incinerators, each with a treatment capacity of 750 tons per day, and ultra-high-pressure waste heat boilers. The installed generating capacity will be 50 megawatts. The project will be sustained by a 110-kilovolt transmission line to be constructed by the local government.
The Chinese power company's shares rose 2% at the close.
