Tech stocks were mixed late Friday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 0.2% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 1.3%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was up 0.3%.
In corporate news, Meta Platforms (META) shares rose 5.3% after a Bloomberg report cited Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg as saying the firm is considering renting out some of its AI compute as demand for AI infrastructure surges.
CCC Intelligent Solutions (CCC) shares climbed up 9.5% after Reuters reported Thursday the company is exploring a sale, and has hired Morgan Stanley to advise on the process.
SK Hynix (SKHYV) jumped 13% after listing its American depositary receipts on Nasdaq.
ChipMOS Technologies (IMOS) shares rose 2% after the company said its Q2 revenue rose 28.7% year over year to 7.38 billion New Taiwan dollars ($231.8 million), marking its highest quarterly revenue since 2014.
