Tech stocks were sharply higher Tuesday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 5% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) up 6.2%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed up 6.7%.
In corporate news, Palantir Technologies (PLTR) lifted its full-year revenue guidance on Monday after a surge in US commercial sales drove stronger-than-expected Q2 results. Shares jumped past 29%.
Anthropic has inked a $10 billion deal for computing capacity with Volta Infra Holdings, a months-old infrastructure startup backed by Nvidia (NVDA), Bloomberg reported. Nvidia shares rose 2.3%.
Apple's (AAPL) full-year sales in India have surpassed the $10 billion mark for the first time, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. Revenue grew in double digits in the 12 months through March from about $9 billion a year earlier, a person familiar with the matter told the news agency. Apple shares rose 1.8%.
Amazon.com (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos indicated plans to sell 15 million shares of the company valued at $4.07 billion, according to a regulatory filing. Separately, Amazon was sued Tuesday by New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, who accused the company of abusing its market power over independent delivery drivers, Davenport's office confirmed to. Amazon shares were down 1.9%.
