In corporate news, Apple (AAPL) faces softer early demand for its new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max based on shorter wait times since preorders opened on Saturday, UBS Securities said in a note. Apple shares were down 0.6%.

Apollo shares rose 1.5%.UBS (UBS) faces a potential capital requirement of as much as $20 billion as Switzerland's upper house delayed a vote on proposed banking rules to Sept. 23, Bloomberg reported. The draft law would require UBS to back the full value of its foreign subsidiaries with high-quality CET1 capital in Switzerland, the report said. UBS shares were up 0.4%.
