Tech stocks were mixed Wednesday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 0.4% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 2%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was fractionally lower.
In corporate news, SpaceX (SPCX) reported a Q2 loss late Tuesday of $0.09 per diluted share, narrowing from the loss of $0.34 a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected a loss of $0.23. CEO Elon Musk said SpaceX will build its AI services exclusively on Nvidia's (NVDA) systems. SpaceX shares were falling 8.1%, and Nvidia rose 4.4%.
