Healthcare stocks were mixed in early trading Monday, with the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) down by 0.2% and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) 1.4% lower.
Moderna (MRNA) shares fell 1.2%, extending the 10.8% loss in the previous session. Jefferies lifted its price target on the company to $60 from $53, while maintaining a hold rating.
Madrigal Pharmaceuticals (MDGL) traded down 0.5% after a 4.2% fall at the end of Friday's session. The company said that the US Patent and Trademark Office has issued three new patents covering resmetirom, strengthening its intellectual property portfolio for Rezdiffra.
InMode (INMD) stock was down more than 1% after rising 1.8% at the prior close. The company reported preliminary Q2 revenue of $95.2 million to $95.4 million.
