Sector Update: Financial Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Tuesday

Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Tuesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) declining by 0.3%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.8% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.5% higher.

JPMorgan Chase (JPM) stock was down nearly 2% even after the company reported higher Q2 earnings and revenue.

Goldman Sachs (GS) shares were up more than 3% after the company posted higher Q2 earnings and revenue.

Bank of America (BAC) stock was up 0.2% after the company reported higher Q2 earnings and revenue.

Consumer stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.8% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) shedding 1.1%.In corporate news, Paramount Skydance (PSKY) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) are facing a lawsuit from California Attorney General Rob Bonta led coalition of 12 state attorneys general seeking to block the companies' proposed $110 billion merger deal, the AG said.
