Financial stocks were advancing premarket Wednesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) marginally higher.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.3% lower.

Huntington Bancshares (HBAN) revised its adjusted 2027 earnings-per-share target range to $1.75 to $1.83, reflecting lower-than-expected loan growth and net interest margins, the company said in a presentation. Huntington Bancshares stock was down more than 1% pre-bell.

Sector Update: Energy Stocks Gain Late Afternoon

Energy stocks were higher late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) each adding 2%.The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was rising 1.9%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index was down 0.9%.Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil jumped 4.2% to $105.67 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract added 2.7% to $108.51 a barrel. Financial stocks were lower in late Tuesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index decreasing 0.5% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) shedding 0.3%.The Philadelphia Housing Index was down 0.2%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was easing 0.1%.Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was falling 2.8% to $75,953, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 3.5 basis points to 4.996%.In economic news, the US Federal Reserve kicked off its two-day monetary policy meeting on Tuesday. Ahead of the rate decision on Wednesday, traders are now pricing in a 95% probability that the central bank will raise its target rate by 25 basis points, up from 33% a month ago, according to the CME FedWatch tool.In corporate news, Goldman Sachs' (GS) asset management alternatives unit has raised $11.7 billion across its newest private equity funds and other vehicles, Reuters reported, citing a statement and an interview with an executive.
