Financial stocks were lower in late Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) each decreasing 0.7%.
The Philadelphia Housing Index was shedding 1%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) was down 1%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) was increasing 2.3% to $64,279, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 2.8 basis points to 4.724%.
In corporate news, Barclays (BCS) said Monday it will appoint Mike Joo and Adeel Khan as co-CEOs of its Investment Bank, starting February 2027. Barclays shares were down 1.1%.
